Don't Forget the Lyrics Home Edition

I have always loved music. I listen to almost every kind on a regular basis and I am always open to something new and off the beaten path. I am starting to pass this on to Mason, who will very loudly offer his opinion on whatever new CD I am playing. Sometimes it's favorable and other times, not as much. As a small baby, he really seemed to like Yellowcard (weird) and it would calm him down if he was upset in the car and I couldn't hold him. That was my first clue this kid shared my love of music.

Well, we have progressed. Watching him dance around to the house and his recognition of a couple songs from movies we have watched prompted me to buy the "Cars" soundtrack for him to listen to. It seems to be perfect blend of his love for all things with wheels and his love of music.

As we were driving last week, I noticed he was softly singing along to the old, doo-wop style song "Sh-Boom" by The Chords (here is a sample courtesy of cdnow.com). Some of the main lyrics say "Life could be a dream, if I could take you up to paradise up above...". I sing along and get into it (I said earlier I'm not above dancing around like the total spaz that I am to make my child laugh), and so it took me a second to notice what Mason was actually saying.

He sings "Like a dream... ooooh.... like a dream ...."

I found this hilarous and so cute. I know we all have stories about mixed up lyrics. What's yours?
